National Disaster Observatory data Applications
One of the main function of National Disaster Observatories is to produce analytical documents that are useful in the DRR process in a given country.

Over the past decade or more, NDO's in different parts of the world have produced many such documents. This page shows a few of them which can give a pretty good idea of the analytical power of the Observatories, at both the Global, Regional and National Levels.

• Global Assessment Report: Chapter 3 - Extensive Risk, Disaster and Poverty
  This chapter of the Global Assessment report shows how data from many NDO's was used to establish links between porverty (development) and disasters.
• Sri Landa Observatory Preliminary Analysis
  This publication from Sri Lanka's government shows how the historical database was analysed in this document that is the official reference for the subject in the country
• Asia Extensive Risk Analysis
  This, one of the supporting documents for the GAR was a contribution from the GRIP to the GAR. It focuses analysis on Asian NDO's data
• Orissa Historical Disaster Loss Analysis
  Presented about 5 years ago in the World Congress on Disaster Prevention in Delhi, India, with an analysis of the Orissa disaster database.
