GRIP at a Glance - February 2012

 
In February, GRIP brought technical support in Risk Assessment to 6 countries and the prevention, preparedness and response to disasters in the ENPI East Region (PPRD-East). GRIP-CERAM Shanghai has completed the design of a prototype of National Disaster Database – a key component of National Disaster Observatory (NDO).

GRIP brought technical support in Risk Assessment to 11 countries and the Economic Community of Central African States. GRIP's 5-year establishment phase is ending in March 2012 and GRIP is now preparing for its second phase by initiating a comprehensive and independent evaluation for further improvements in the second phase.

GRIP brought technical support and training in Risk Assessment to 10 countries and the Africa region. The Shanghai Normal University has granted US$ 80,000 to GRIP-CERAM Shanghai for National Disaster Observatory and software tool and practice developments. GRIP has also started high level collaboration with the Global Science Forum of OECD and the Global Risk Forum - Davos.
