The Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) country factsheet illustrates GRIP country support to the country, since 2008, also providing an overview of the country’s situation, DRR system, achievements to date and future developments.

BiH has successfully achieved the following: 

• National Risk Assessment (NRA) legal and policy framework (“Methodology for drafting the National Risk Assessment referring to Natural and Other Disasters in Bosnia and Herzegovina“) adopted by the Council of Ministers (September 2009); 
• Concept note for National DRM/R planning developed: “Strengthening National Capacity for Disaster Risk Management and Emergency Response in BiH” (September 2009); 
• Coordination mechanism for NRA initiated;
• Working groups for risk assessment established;
• Implementation plan for NRA developed;
• NRA completed.
